Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) is one of the world’s leading providers of servers, storage, networking and converged systems products, and supporting services. HPE was created from a split of the original Hewlett-Packard Company (founded in 1939) in 2015, at which point HP’s personal computer and printing business became HP Inc. and all enterprise servers, software, storage, switches, and cloud services became HPE.

The Role

HPE is seeking to hire a new Vice President & Chief Procurement Officer to lead the organization and its transformation. The new Vice President will:

1. Provide world-class sourcing and procurement services to HPE businesses and customer in a socially responsible manner.
2. Manage all direct materials and manufacturing partner spend (~$18 billion) and meet annual savings and efficiency targets.
3. Transform procurement operations to support HPE’s ongoing transition to an omnichannel, “as a service” provider.

Experience & Requirements

• 20+ years of experience in world-class organizations, including at least 10 years leadership in the procurement function with $10+ billion in annual procurement spend responsibility.
• Experience leading procurement functions to a best-in-class end state, including identification of strategic gaps and charting structure, well-sponsored path to close.
• Experience with global manufacturing spend and sourcing operations in overseas markets such as China, India, Mexico, South America, and Eastern Europe.
• Exceptional track record of converting identified savings into bottom line results and achieving established financial goals.
• Able to drive value in sensitive, challenging, or long-term supply relationships through innovation, challenging status quo, or the creation of alternatives and substitutes.
• Experience working with R&D/Product functions on VA/VE, DFM, and alternative supply initiatives.
• Experience innovating the customer experience through the supply chain function; specific experiences building a “self-service” ideology and increasing DTC delivery.
• Experience designing, implementing, and transitioning various IT and data management systems and processes (P2P, etc.) to support transformation.
• Leads through influence and inspiration; attracts and retains top talent across a variety of functions and geographies; experience creating a culture of performance.
• Superior customer orientation with a clear ability to translate customer needs into short-term and long-range operating plans.
• Superior financial management skills; leads strategic planning and budgeting processes; interprets financial data for effective decision making.
• Polished communication skills, including written, verbal and presentation skills; comfortable and credible with both internal stakeholders, customers, and external audiences.
• Strong orientation to leadership, teamwork, and positive communication; a flexible, dynamic, self?demanding and proactive individual, able to motivate him/herself and others.
