The Company
Monarch Bioenergy is a joint venture between Roeslein Alternative Energy (“RAE”) and a subsidiary of Smithfield Foods. Launched in 2018, Monarch leverages RAE’s state-of-the-art technology and Smithfield’s innovative sustainable farming practices to capture methane emissions and convert them into carbon-negative renewable natural gas (RNG) to power homes, vehicles, and businesses. Monarch operates 8 production facilities in Missouri and plans to build 30 more across the country over the next 5 years.
The Role
With TPG’s support, Monarch is building out their corporate infrastructure as the company transitions to a formal stand-alone entity. As such, the company now seeks to hire a Community Liaison Officer to oversee corporate communications and public relations. In collaboration with Marketing, this role will lead community engagement efforts and develop strong relationships with local advocacy groups, regulatory bodies, and policy makers.
Experience & Requirements
The main areas of focus for the role will be on (1) Community Engagement through the design and delivery of quality and impactful engagement strategies; (2) Public/Media Relations with local social and environmental advocacy groups; and (3) Crisis Management dealing with the risk mitigation of any potential negative publicity threats.
