Siemens DISW is currently transitioning their product portfolio to SaaS and hybrid SaaS solutions and is seeking to hire a new Director Development Operations (DevOps) to take ownership for all cloud infrastructure and development operations. The Director will be chartered with creating an enterprise-wide cloud strategy, partnering with the T&I leadership team and business units to deploy common tools and technology with proper governance. As a senior technology leader, the Director will ensure industry best practices are being adopted in terms of architecture, delivery and integration, deployment, security, 3rd-level support, and testing. The Director will report to the Vice President of Technology & Development Operations and lead a team of 12-15.
Experience & Requirements
•15+ years of experience leading experienced DevOps team in a cloud native product development environment. Experience in API management is essential.
•Extensive experience in cloud infrastructure and related technologies.
•Solid technical background, with hands-on experience in delivering infrastructure, monitoring, and tooling to cloud native engineering and database management applications.
•Experienced in building/enhancing continuous delivery and continuous integration services.
•Strong agile development background and history of building teams to work in highly agile, cross-functional environments.
•Experience in leading and motivating highly talented, remote teams to implement modern technology and processes.
•Experienced working with and presenting to senior management.
•Excellent people and line management skills and the ability to recruit and develop a high performing team.
•An effective manager who can support, challenge, and inspire a globally organized and competent staff to rise to the next level of proficiency in their professional career, develop management continuity strategies, and develop a strong team environment.
•Proficient in handling multiple complex issues concurrently with the ability to articulate and prioritize based on impact, to align course of actions and execute on timeliness.
•Able to influence others through both direct and indirect networks, a consensus builder and change agent.
•Excellent spoken and written presentation skills; ability to create high quality, captivating presentations; confidence in communicating at all levels and sizes of audience.
•A flexible, dynamic, self-demanding and proactive individual; able to motivate him/herself and others; a natural bias for action.
•Bachelor’s degree in engineering or software development with advanced degrees preferred.
•DevOps certifications in one or more of the following: AWS, Azure, DevOps Institute, Docker, Kubernetes, Puppet, HashiCorp.
•Able to travel domestically and internationally up to 10%.
