The Role

The Americas Procurement Director – Product-Related (PR) will transform the PR group from a reactive buyer mindset to a strategic and technically competent category management organization. The Director will establish regional category management plans with local execution and deliver the best cost & performance supply to the integrated supply chain organization, while leveraging SAP, Ariba, and Coupa for optimal efficiency. This role will be responsible for a spend of $1.5 to $2 billion in specialty chemicals, additives, and commodities The Director will lead a team of 4 direct reports and a total organization of ~20.

Experience & Requirements

• 10+ years work experience of strategic, project and operational procurement, including 5+ with direct procurement leadership
• Chemical/petrochemical technical background preferred; knowledge of raw materials.
• Strong leadership skills and the ability to influence and inspire to change
• Comprehensive experience of project procurement and category management and related best practices (including process development and change management)
• Strong negotiating skills and business acumen
• Fast and flexible and the ability to prioritize
• Effective communication skills with the ability to engage people at all levels
• Ability to prioritize efficiently and strong decision-making skills
• Highly effective with stakeholder management and capability to build strong relationships internal and with suppliers
• Analytical and excellent problem-solving skills
• Process minded and experience in continuous improvement
• Project management skills
• Ability to resolve conflicts and building organizational alignment
• Knowledge and experience in Guided Buying and Cataloging in Ariba and Outline Agreements in SAP
• High knowledge and experience of legal terms & conditions
• Skills (soft & hard) to motivate and accelerate teams by growing talent and increase output and results
• Cultural awareness and experienced in how to manage decision making processes (all colors of the Lewis triangle)
• Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams, PowerBI) and SAP & Ariba
