The Role

The Director, Group Procurement will create a procurement strategy and lead spend management. The Director with lead the RFP process, negotiations, and contracting, and will manage the on-going performance of the global supply base. The position is flexible on location with a preference for company headquarters in St. Louis, MO.

Experience & Requirements

• Portfolio Strategy. Develop and implement a comprehensive plan for assigned spend that drives improvements in cost, quality, and delivery performance. Continually conduct market analysis, peer company benchmarking, supply risk assessments, and evaluation of new sources of supply. Ensure proper sequencing, budgeting, resourcing, and stakeholder support for an annual portfolio of projects.

• Strategic Sourcing. Drive sourcing projects defined within the overall portfolio strategy. Define project goals, including roles and responsibilities of stakeholders. Consistently apply contemporary methods and processes to deliver total cost value
creation and supply assurance. Develop comprehensive implementation and communications plans with stakeholders and end users; ensure involvement of all organizations and individuals impacted. Quantify and document strategic sourcing project results.

• Contracting. Develop innovative contracting approaches consistent with category strategy and business objectives through performance measures, incentives, long term agreements, partnerships, etc. Address business, market, and supplier risks. Obtain appropriate management authorization/approvals. Work with finance and legal resources to develop T&C’s that optimize business unit and supplier requirements.

• Supplier Relationship Management. Manage suppliers, ensuring supply reliability and continuity, price stability, price predictability, innovation, and identification of alternative sources. Optimize value, quality, and security of supply by measuring performance and maintaining relationships with suppliers. Ensure suppliers are performing to contracted obligations and service levels, and meeting stakeholder expectations. Initiate quarterly business reviews with suppliers to review performance and trend program direction. When performance issues emerge, lead interactions with the supplier to ensure efficient resolution.

• Metrics & Reporting. Develop and manage sourcing scorecards and dashboards for use by internal business partners as well as suppliers. Establish and manage metrics to influence demand management. Maintain and continuously improve categorization of global spend cube for spend under management.
