Director, Quality

The Company

Ultra Maritime delivers market-leading mission systems and application
engineering solutions in the maritime domain. Their capabilities, including
sonar, sonobuoy, naval sensors, and power systems, are operational on
naval fleets across the US, UK, and allied navies worldwide. Headquartered
in Braintree, Massachusetts, Ultra Maritime operates seven manufacturing
locations globally across five lines of business and generates annual revenue
of ~$600M.

The Role

With Advent’s sponsorship, Ultra Maritime is embarking on the build-out
of a centralized Quality function. Reporting directly to the VP of Quality,
the Director of Quality at the Braintree facility will be responsible for
building and developing best-in-class processes across Quality
Management, Compliance, and NPI.

Experience & Requirements

• At least 5 years of progressive quality or operations experience in a
manufacturing environment; experience in the Aerospace & Defense
industry is highly preferred.
• Thorough understanding of ISO 9001, AS9100 and Nadcap
requirements preferred.
• Experience using Six Sigma problem-solving tools to identify root
causes and implement sustainable corrective actions.
• Experience and training in Continuous Improvement and a track
record of applying these skills to resolve quality issues.
• Demonstrated ability to influence others through both direct and
indirect networks; a consensus builder and change agent.
• Excellent communication skills, including written, verbal and
presentation skills; comfortable and credible with both internal and
external audiences; Board and local levels.
• A flexible, dynamic, self-demanding, and proactive individual; able to
motivate themself and others; a natural bias for action and ability to
deal with ambiguity.
