The Role
The Executive Director, Posting Services will be a key member of the team responsible for executing athenahealth’s core revenue services. In this role, the Executive Director, Posting Services will lead the strategic planning, development, and implementation of new posting and back-end processes to support the company’s ambitious business strategy, evolve athenahealth’s leadership position in market, and nurture the unique culture of innovation and commitment. Reporting to the Vice President of Financial Processing, Tracking & Posting Services, this role will manage a team of 4 direct reports, a broader team of 20 US based leaders, and an offshore team in India of ~1500-2000 associates. The role may be based anywhere in the United States.
The ideal candidate will possess: (1) revenue cycle leadership experience in a healthcare environment of relevant scale and complexity, with depth in back-end revenue cycle; (2) experience leading significant operations improvement initiatives in a complex, matrixed environment; and (3) superior advisory, relationship, and stakeholder management necessary to drive change in high?growth, investor?backed environment.
Experience & Requirements
• 10+ years of professional experience, with at least 7 years of experience in a project management capacity.
• Functional expertise in back-end revenue cycle, inclusive of cash posting processes and enabling technologies.
• Project management and transformation skillset, including opportunity identification and prioritization, timeline and resourcing management, financial and risk management, implementation, and reporting.
• Experience shaping strategic objectives at the Executive Management level that are translated into tactical business plans with mechanisms for key measurements to monitor progress.
• Experience managing numerous detail-intensive and time-sensitive tasks and ensure the accurate completion of the same.
• Experience driving forecast, budget, and quality performance outcomes in an environment of similar size and scale.
• Experience executing within an Agile development environment.
• Experience leading a team, ideally of similar size. Offshore management experience is a plus.
• Self-confident leader, adept at working up and down the organization to drive change through action and influence.
• Excellent communication skills, including written, verbal and presentation skills; comfortable and credible with both internal stakeholders and external audiences.
• A flexible, dynamic, self-demanding and proactive individual; able to motivate themselves and others; a natural bias for action and ability to deal with ambiguity.
