The Role
Imperial Dade operates 100+ warehouses nationally serving more
than 90,000 customers annually. The company is highly acquisitive,
having completed over 58 acquisitions to date. The Central Region is
made up of 12 separate businesses across Minnesota, Wisconsin,
Michigan, Indiana, and Missouri and operates 31 separate
warehouses and ~$550M in total revenue. The Central Region is led
by Dan Davidson, SVP of Operations.
Imperial Dade’s Nichols region was formed in May 2022 through the
merging of acquisitions Tepe Sanitary and Allied Eagle Supply. The region focuses mostly on the distribution of janitorial, sanitation, packaging, and paper product lines. Nichols is the largest and most profitable division of the central region, having maintained continued growth across all product lines post acquisition and integration.
The General Manager of Nichols will have full responsibility for a $185M P&L across 8 locations. The largest and primary distribution center is located in Norton Shores, MI that also supports the back-office function staff. The General Manager will continue to optimize P&L profitability across operations, sales, finance, HR and marketing supporting the continued growth of all product segments. The General Manager will maintain a culture of growth, collaboration, and engagement across all facilities. The role reports to the SVP of Central Operations and is based near Norton Shores, MI.
Experience & Requirements
• 15+ years of experience that includes progressive leadership
responsibilities including P&L management; preferred
experience in wholesale, distribution, or service provider
environments
• Expertise in all general DC management functional areas,
including sales, customer service, collections, warehouse
operations, quality/inspection, facility and fleet management,
scheduling/routing, and delivery
• Experience in an environment requiring high levels of customer
service with many small/medium-sized customers
• Process and results-oriented in setting and pursuing aggressive
goals, demonstrating a strong commitment to organizational
success, and marshaling resources to accomplish goals and
objectives
• Experience forecasting, budgeting, and leading quarterly and
annual business planning processes
• A natural mentor: demonstrated ability to develop talent,
recruit and lead cross-functional teams, and foster a
collaborative culture
