The Role

The Process Engineer develops, leads and supports all engineering efforts across the Profile Products business and is responsible for the implementation of new capital deployment, reliability engineering and capital improvements to existing assets. A strong background in Process Engineering as well as a well-rounded background is needed to balance the mechanical, chemical, and process components of this role.

Experience & Requirements

• Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, or Product Development background in Wood Fiber processing with specific technical skills to troubleshoot possible bottlenecks or identify opportunities for improvement in the systems, design, process flow, product, and/or quality.
• Process engineering is a critical component to success, but other refined fiber expertise will be considered.
• Process Capability Study and Improvement Knowledge
• Experience with Creating Startup, Operation and Shutdown Procedures and Processes
• Technical knowledge with all or a combination of the following are required,
o Hydraulic Compression Systems,
o Wood Fiber/Insulation Drying, (Flash Tube Dryers)
o Wood Fiber/Insulation Material Transfer (Forced Air flow, Steam Flow, Auger/Drag Chain Conveyance)
o Dye and Chemical Cohesion to Wood Fiber
o Wood Fiber Refining
o Dust collection
• Experience in developing and utilizing a data driven, analytical approach to problem solving as well deep wood fiber or paper process knowledge to bring ideas from theoretical to actionable plans.
• Leadership gravitas and ability to teach and coach the Profile Products maintenance and operations team on how to identify and fix the problems within the operation that is hindering throughput, yield, quality, and service.
• Ability to be onsite at Monticello, GA on the production floor Monday – Friday is ideal. Will take travel into consideration to accommodate travel/home time.
• Key industries to target for subject matter expertise:
o Fiber board (MDF) manufacturer (Georgia pacific, Google:ARAUCO, DAIKEN CORPORATION, Dexco, EGGER Group, Eucatex, Masisa, Fantoni Spa, Kastamonu Entegre, Korosten MDF Manufacture, Kronoplus Limited, and Nelson Pine Industries Limited)
o Wood Insulation Manufacturing
o Door skin manufacturer (Jeld-Wen, Masonite, Steve’s and Sons)
o Paper product manufacturers, but these are less ideal. Prefer refined fiber expertise.
• Experience in mechanical, chemical and/or manufacturing engineering.
