Rittal GmbH & Co. KG (“Rittal”), based in Herborn, Germany, is the largest company of the Friedhelm Loh Group. It is a leading global provider of solutions for industrial enclosures, power distribution, climate control and IT infrastructure, as well as software and services. Rittal operates 12 production facilities and employs over 10,000 people worldwide. Rittal’s US operation has annual revenues of ~$250 million, is headquartered in Schaumburg, IL, operates a production facility in Urbana, OH, and has distribution hubs in Houston, TX, and Sparks, NV. Rittal plans to double the size of the US business by 2024.

The Role

The company is seeking a new Sourcing & Procurement Manager to lead all strategic sourcing efforts for the U.S. The individual will manage ~$65M in spend across direct and indirect categories, will lead a team of 5, and report directly to the VP of Operations. The role is based in Urbana, OH at the production facility.

Experience & Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required; Supply Chain, Engineering, Chemistry, Business, or Finance preferred.
• At least five years of sourcing and leadership experience in a well-respected organization; breadth of procurement and technical experience is valued; preference for experience with commodity sourcing i.e. steel.
• Experience with multi-step strategic sourcing processes and category management strategies.
• Track record of year-over-year delivery of distinctive value and implemented savings from sourcing/category management.
• Well-developed commercial acumen and negotiation skills; expert understanding of the role of terms, conditions, and other contracting requirements in managing corporate risk.
• Embraces fact?based decision making; naturally seeks to leverage and/or integrate market data, spend analytics, and cost modeling.
• Strong project management skills, including stakeholder alignment, timeline, and meeting management skills.
• Strong financial, quantitative, and analytical skills.
• Ability to lead and develop direct reports; proven ability to mentor and build talent within an organization.
• Excellent communication skills, including written, verbal and presentation skills; comfortable and credible with both internal stakeholders and external audiences.
• Able to work up, down, and across large organizations; connects at all levels, i.e., plant operations, management, executives.
• A flexible, dynamic, self-demanding and proactive individual; able to motivate themselves and others.
