In 2012, the Clinic was the first medical organization in the United States accredited as an “Accountable Care Organization” by the prestigious National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA). Kelsey-Seybold also owns and operates “Kelsey-Care Advantage,” a Medicare Advantage plan which has received the coveted 5-star quality designation by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).
In addition to operating Texas’ largest ambulatory surgery center, the Clinic operates multi-specialty care centers, onsite Kelsey pharmacies, a cancer center, a women’s health center, and a specialized sleep center with more than 30 locations in the Greater Houston area.

The Role

As a core component of the growth strategy, Kelsey-Seybold has recently established a new legal entity, Physicians Group of Texas (PGT), that will create and manage clinically integrated networks in Houston and in other markets across Texas and beyond. PGT is now seeking to hire a Senior Director of Clinical Operations and Population Health who will own the build out of PGT’s capabilities in care and disease management, utilization review and management, quality improvement, and clinical governance.
This new leader will be responsible for building the team and structure to support PGT’s clinical goals and initiatives. They will work with the CMO and regional medical directors on clinical governance, including clinical committee(s) and pathway development, and will assist PGT’s provider relations staff with network development, education, and performance improvement. The new leader will report to the President of PGT and may be based anywhere in Texas.

Experience & Requirements

10+ years of progressive management experience in the healthcare industry
• 3 years of direct experience in an ACO, CIN, IPA, or health plan managing clinical QM/QI activities, disease management, and/or population health preferred
• Strong working knowledge of industry regulations including Medicare and Commercial HMOs and those covering ACO, CIN, and IPAs in related organizations
• Demonstrated ability to recruit, retain, manage, and develop top talent, a recognized thought leader and natural mentor
• Skilled at relationship management, particularly with physicians and clinical teams
• Fosters an environment of creativity and innovation, focusing on the empowerment and support of staff through tools and continuous process improvement
• Manages change through influence; capable of driving buy-in and change across a diverse set of internal stakeholders; collaborative and collaborative
• Attracted to entrepreneurial environments — tolerant of ambiguity.
