The Role
As a Supply Chain Manager, you will be responsible for the procurement, sourcing, and overall logistics as it relates to the Herff Jones jewelry business. This will include working closely with plant management in forecasting, planning, and sourcing of manufacturing materials and ensuring materials are ready for
production as needed.
Experience & Requirements
• Position reports directly to the Plant Manager.
• Direct supervision of all procurement, sourcing, and vendor management.
• Responsible for all product outsourcing efforts, utilizing existing 3rd party manufacturers as well as
securing additional outsourced partners.
• Responsible for the daily procurement & execution functions, working within the Company policies and
guidelines.
• Work with the Corporate Supplier Manager to implement vendor management system with respect to
supply chain risk mitigation, contractor agreements, and responsible sourcing.
• Work closely with others as it relates to demand planning/forecasting production requirements.
• Accountable to vet appropriate manufacturing partners that can deliver products with the quality
requirements needed, order lead-time requirements, and lowest possible cost.
• Fully support the targeted expansion of outsourcing production, being held accountable with others to
hit the outsourcing targets & percentages.
• Support Operations not only in terms of finished items, but also in terms of manufacturing
subcontractors, component suppliers, stones, and raw materials.
• Working closely with the New Product Development manager and Product Marketing as new ideas &
products are vetted through the NPD process for potential new product launches.
• Strategically align all procurement and sourcing efforts with the respective business unit process and
ordering cycle as well as the organization’s overall outsourcing strategy.
• Assess current procurement organization and make recommendations/implement development tools to
improve overall performance.
• Responsible for achieving or beating budgetary requirements in terms of procurement spend and
internal labor spending.
• Key contributor in formulating and achieving CIP savings targets.
