The Company

Aftermath Services is the nation’s largest biohazard remediation and trauma cleanup company with more than 80 branches located across the country. Founded in 1996, the Company has provided professional and compassionate services to more than 30,000 families, communities, and businesses after traumatic events, helping lift the burden of cleanup from those who are grieving after tragedies like suicides, homicides, unattended deaths, accidents, or other biohazard situations. Aftermath is headquartered in Aurora, IL (Chicagoland area), generates ~$70m in annual revenue and is an operating company of the home services conglomerate ServiceMaster Brands.

The Role

Given company growth goals, Aftermath is now seeking to hire a new Vice President to take responsibility for the Company’s business development function, including a team of 5 Sales Managers and ~30 reps. The incumbent will transition to focus on inside sales and digital marketing and will serve as a key partner to the new VP.
The VP will be chartered with identifying and engaging both new and existing partners and influencers to grow Aftermath’s customer base, building and implementing a company-wide go-to-market strategy, and managing Aftermath’s sales process, inclusive of CRM database support, pipeline management, and KPI setting. In addition, the new leader will be responsible for talent assessment and development, identifying gaps and upgrading the team as necessary. They will be an action-oriented, visible, and hands-on leader with a strong execution orientation and an open leadership style that promotes trust and confidence.

Experience & Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess: (1) commercial leadership experience in a field services business of relevant scale and complexity; (2) a track record of building and transforming “top of the funnel” focused sales or business development organizations; (3) a hands-on, field forward leadership style; able to collaborate with cross-functional partners to drive process implementation and continuous improvement, and; (4) the results orientation and urgency necessary for a high growth, private equity backed environment. The VP will lead a team of ~36 employees, report directly to the President of Aftermath, and may be based remotely with frequent travel.
