The Role
Bob’s Discount Furniture has grown to a >$2 billion retailer through aggressive expansion of their geographic footprint and investment in supply chain and merchandising infrastructure to enable continued expansion, profitable growth, and an improved customer experience. To capture the benefits of its current scale and to prepare for future growth, Bob’s seeks to hire a VP of Global Strategic Sourcing, who will build and scale a world-class sourcing organization and team, while partnering closely with suppliers, merchandising teams, and supply chain teams.
Experience & Requirements
The ideal candidate will possess: (1) experience building and leading the sourcing function in a retailer, wholesaler, or manufacturer of relevant size and complexity, preferably in the furniture industry; (2) demonstrated expertise in strategic sourcing, including risk management, supplier development & management, new product development, contracts & negotiations and demand management; (3) a track record of building and scaling sourcing capabilities in growth-oriented environments; (4) a and collaborative, entrepreneurial, hands-on and leadership style that will lead change through action and influence in a fast-paced and evolving environment. This position reports to the Chief Merchandising Officer, will build a sourcing team, and may be based anywhere in the US with travel to Bob’s headquarters and to suppliers (including global).
