Kirsten Saul is a Managing Director at PierceGray, based in the New York office. She joined in 2012 as the firm’s fifth employee and has helped build it from a handful of people into the firm it is today.
Kirsten specializes in placing Chief Executive Officers, P&L Leaders, and Chief Transformation Officers for private equity portfolio companies, with additional expertise in fund-level operating roles. She takes on the firm’s most complex searches, the ones where the profile is unusual or the requirements shift as the work progresses, and she is known internally as the person to bring in when a search resists a standard approach.
Kirsten came to PierceGray from a career as a classically trained musician and has spent her entire time in executive search at the firm. She learned the work from inside the firm rather than from a consulting or operating background, and she credits that path for the way she approaches a difficult search. She holds a BA from Portland State University and a Master of Music from Northwestern University.
She plays oboe and English horn with several symphony orchestras and chamber groups in New York City, and enjoys travel, reading, and sports.
