Matt Hamlin is the CEO and Managing Partner of PierceGray. Based in New York City, he joined the firm in 2016 and became CEO in 2021.
Matt is responsible for leading the firm’s growth, building out our Practices, setting the tone for the culture, and ensuring every client receives outstanding service and rigorous execution on every search. He continues to lead searches for C-suite executives and Operating Partners in high-growth, transformational businesses.
Having come to PierceGray with deep experience in Supply Chain and Procurement, Matt learned executive search as a generalist and developed broad industry and functional expertise. He was drawn to search as it sits at the intersection of technical know-how and human connection, both of which are proven drivers of high-performing leadership that transforms businesses. He works to leverage an understanding of both in how he and the firm advise clients daily.
Matt spent his early career in supply chain in both industry and management consulting roles. At Alvarez & Marsal, he was focused on Private Equity, a space our firm has been deeply committed to since 2012. Matt began his career at AT&T and Accenture. His operating background shapes how he approaches every search and is a key part of PierceGray’s culture.
He holds a BS in Accounting and Logistics and Transportation from the University of Tennessee. He lives in Darien, Connecticut, and when he’s not spending time with his family, he stays active year-round, is an avid golfer and enjoys winter sports as well.
