ZAGG is a global leader in accessories and technologies that empower mobile lifestyles. The award-winning product portfolio includes screen protection, power management solutions, mobile keyboards, cases, and personal audio. The company has a large global footprint and has a presence in most major US retailers. ZAGG has three main business units and four global brands; Protection (phone cases, screen protectors), Power (wireless chargers, battery packs) and Keyboards. ZAGG currently operates one internal distribution center with 90% of their products being manufactured out of China or Vietnam.
The Role
Following a take-private transaction in 2021, the management team, supported by Corona Park Capital, has worked to identify core value creation levers in support of its growth plans. Currently a high margin business, there is an opportunity to improve yield and grow market share. As such, the management team seeks to bring in a new Chief Supply Chain Officer to own the end-to-end supply chain function, managing external vendors, driving operational excellence internally, and being the operational face of ZAGG to its strategic customers and external partners.
Experience & Requirements
The Chief Supply Chain officer will be responsible for the following functional areas:
• Functional Leadership. Provide overall leadership for the Supply Chain function, including strategy development and implementation; operating plans and budgets; recruiting, staffing, and leadership development; value generation initiatives; policies and procedures; and communications with investors and executive leadership. Establish a reputation for excellence in supply chain management to include the following disciplines; Distribution & Fulfillment, Sourcing & Supplier Management, and Planning.
• Analytics & Data Management. Provide expert financial, quantitative, and analytical assessment of existing data; Establish baseline and track operational KPIs (e.g. forecast accuracy, fill rates, on time delivery, schedule attainment etc.) for inventory optimization. Advance problem solve to drive data-informed decision making.
• Reporting & Intelligence. Provide regular reporting to stakeholders regarding supply chain performance, including financial analysis to support cost reduction and other value creation initiatives. Serve as a source of business intelligence for company’s strategic decisions, e.g., capital planning, new product economics and business process optimization.
• Organization Development. Assess, recruit, and retain a high performing supply chain team. Promote a culture of accountability, transparency, and teamwork across network operations. Develop capabilities of the team through mentoring, training, and coaching. Develop working relationships with internal and external suppliers and customers and foster positive team relations.
