The Role
With plans to accelerate the growth and profitability of the business, Alliance seeks to hire a Controller to build and lead the accounting function including all technical accounting, policies and procedures, audit compliance, and reporting, and the financial integration of acquired companies.
Experience & Requirements
• Functional Leadership. Provide overall leadership for the accounting function to support the organization’s growth and professionalization efforts. Manage day-to-day operations across core accounting functions, including billing, financial statement preparation, general ledger entries, payroll, AR/AP, and budgeting.
• Process, Policies, and Controls. Develop and implement effective systems, accounting policies and financial controls that comply with federal, state, and local standards. Manage and define accounting processes and coordinate cross-functional touchpoints with internal stakeholders. Identify areas for improvement in communication or tactical execution.
• Financial Reporting and Compliance. Direct and manage financial accounting activities both internal and externally in accordance with U.S. GAAP, Sarbanes-Oxley requirements, and best practices. Coordinate with external parties for annual audit, tax planning and compliance activities.
• Performance Management. Own the KPIs / performance metrics that will be used to manage the performance of the accounting organization based on leading practices. Establish financial and operating benchmarks, budgets, program monitoring, and reporting standards on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
• Organizational Leadership. Management and supervision of accounting operations, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department’s goals and objectives.
• Decision Support. Partner with CFO/company leadership in development of operating benchmarks and budgets and implementation of corrective actions where required.
• Systems. Experience with legacy financial systems and migrating disparate systems into a common platform is highly valued.
