AZEK is headquartered in Chicago, IL (with plants in OH and PA) and owns Minnesota-based Ultralox railing systems and Georgia-based StruXure pergola and cabana systems.

The Role

AZEK is seeking to hire a Director of Product Management that has an affinity for building products and understands the mindset of dealers, DIY/contractors, and homeowners. The Director of Product Management is responsible for the execution of the 3-5 year product and market strategy including gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining and executing the Product Roadmap, and working closely with R&D, Manufacturing/Operations, Sales and Marketing to ensure revenue and margin goals are met.

The Director of Product Management will lead the development of the company’s long-term Product Strategy and Roadmap and will be directly responsible for its execution. This includes customer, competitive, and market research, strategic and financial analysis, product development (from concept, product definition/features/benefits, financials/pricing, SKU set-up, etc.), and leading annual new product launch execution and management of product rationalization. The role reports to the SVP and General Manager, Patrick Barnds and will ideally be based at company headquarters in Chicago, IL.

Experience & Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in product management, manufacturing operations or a closely related leadership position in the management of tangible products in a manufacturing organization is required.
• Strong project management skills, cross-functional coordination and communication, financial/analytical acumen, strategic and execution mindset.
• Experience in the building products industry or relevant adjacency strongly preferred.
• Experience in investor backed and high growth environments strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated experience driving financial results in a rapidly expanding environment. Experience leading on-going product and business analysis and reporting to ensure an in-depth understanding of the business, profitability, and product performance.
• Results oriented, with superior financial and analytical skills, and experience interfacing with Board and investors.
• Experience interacting with multiple functions simultaneously, including product development, manufacturing, supply chain, sales, marketing, and business development.
• Proven ability to develop talent and build a cohesive team focused on continuous improvement. A strong communicator who can map out and execute an operational strategy in support of growth plans.
• A strong and confident leader and decision maker, who can rally an organization around a vision while seeking guidance from stakeholders as appropriate.
• Superior presence, communications, and stakeholder management skills. Capable of interfacing up and down the organization, from field operations to the Board.
• Operates with a high sense of emotional intelligence and positivity. Respectful of the company culture and able to use ‘soft hands’ when appropriate to influence others and hold the organization accountable for performance.
