The Role

To better leverage its scale and support future growth, the company is looking to hire a Head of Operations for their Saddlebrook, NJ manufacturing facility. The role will have operational leadership for a team of 149 employees producing beauty and personal care products for 60+ customers. The central mandate for the role is to improve operational efficiency and support site growth by instilling and implementing operational discipline to improve productivity, quality, customer service, and reduction in overall operating cost. The Head of Operations will report directly to the Vice President/Site Leader and will be based on-site in Saddlebrook, NJ.

Experience & Requirements

10+ years of experience leading operations in an FDA and/or GMP regulated business.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment of relevant scale and complexity (e.g. >$100 million revenue, 120+ employees, multiple product lines and manufacturing processes).
• Customer orientation and experience interfacing with customers onsite, i.e. hosting site visits and managing customer concerns.
• Demonstrated experience driving financial and operational results in a rapidly expanding environment. Experience driving gains in market share, increasing share of customer wallet, and entry into new and targeted markets.
• Experience applying Lean manufacturing concepts to reduce cost and improve productivity; experience developing and leading continuous improvement programs; demonstrated track record of driving positive change.
• Exposure to product quality assurance and control, supplier quality, and workforce EH&S. Contribute to strong safety performance culture.
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills in support of metrics, data, and process-oriented objectives; ability to succinctly report on operations measures to internal and external stakeholders.
• Demonstrated track record of driving strong employee engagement with strong listening and influencing skills.
• Excellent communication skills, including written, verbal and presentation skills; comfortable and credible with both internal stakeholders and external audiences.
• A flexible, dynamic, self-demanding and proactive individual; able to motivate themselves and others.
• A clear ‘bias for action’ and sense of urgency to operate within a fast-paced and entrepreneurially minded organization.
• A willingness and ability to display a ‘roll up the sleeves’
